Sustainability is embedded in Spooner’s approach to business and innovation.

While we take pride in designing, manufacturing and installing energy efficient, sustainable equipment for our customers worldwide, we also hold ourselves accountable for reducing our own environmental impact.

Our latest step forward was the installation of 480 solar panels on the roof of our factory in Ilkley. These panels are expected to generate 278,060 kWh of clean electricity annually, reducing our carbon footprint by 69.5 tonnes of CO₂ every year.

This investment plays a key role in our aim to decarbonise and reflects our ongoing commitment to a greener future, not just for Spooner, but for the wider manufacturing industry.

Other activities undertaken in recent years have included the installation of LED lighting throughout the site, removal of single use cups and the installation of energy efficient robot welding machines.
