Continuing our drive for sustainability and continuous improvement in our manufacturing processes, Spooner has invested in the latest laser cutting technology.

The new Mazak Fiber laser cutting system will provide a considerable increase in cutting capacity and increase our cutting capability up to 30mm thickness plate in-house.

The installation will provide opportunities to upskill our existing factory team and improve general efficiency.

“As part of our drive to reduce costs and carbon footprint, we needed to increase our cutting capacity but also reduce our power usage, Mazak delivered on all counts, the 10kw Fiber offers environmental savings on several fronts, reduced power and gas consumption, transportation, with the 4m bed we can cut larger/thicker sheets removing the need to get them manufactured externally.”
